🚀 Space Con 2025: A Galactic Gathering in the Heart of Texas
From October 24–26, 2025, the Freeman Coliseum Expo Halls in San Antonio transformed into a sci-fi sanctuary as Space Con returned with warp-speed energy and a constellation of stars. As a proud attendee and pop culture chronicler for Geeky Global Treks, I’m here to beam you the highlights from this interstellar weekend.
🌟 Star-Studded Lineup
This year’s guest list was nothing short of cosmic. Fans were treated to appearances by:
- Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany (WandaVision)
- Brie Larson (Captain Marvel)
- Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye)
- Billy Dee Williams and Ian McDiarmid (Star Wars legends)
- Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix)
- David Duchovny (The X-Files)
- Grant Gustin (The Flash)
- Giancarlo Esposito, Chloe Bennet, Clark Gregg, and many more.
The autograph lines were long, but the energy was electric. Seeing George Takei and Edward James Olmos share a laugh backstage? Priceless.
👥 Attendance & Atmosphere
While official numbers haven’t been released, estimates suggest tens of thousands of fans cycled through the venue over the three-day event. Saturday was the busiest, with cosplayers, collectors, and curious newcomers packing the halls. VIA Transit even added extra buses to accommodate the crowds.
🎤 Must-See Panels
Several panels stood out as fan favorites:
- “WandaVision: Beyond the Hex” with Olsen and Bettany dove into character arcs and MCU lore.
- “Legacy of the Force” brought together Star Wars icons for a nostalgic and surprisingly emotional discussion.
- “Sci-Fi Women Who Kick Ass” featured Carrie-Anne Moss, Chloe Bennet, and Grace Park in a powerful conversation on representation and resilience.
Panels were free to attend, and the Freeman Expo Hall’s acoustics made even the back row feel close to the action.
🛰️ Special Announcements
Space Con 2025 wasn’t just about nostalgia—it was a launchpad for news:
- PMX Events announced a new Space Con: Las Vegas edition debuting in 2027.
- Brie Larson teased a new sci-fi project in development with A24.
- Marvel Comics unveiled a limited-run “Multiverse Mash-Up” series featuring variant covers by artists attending the con.
📅 Looking Ahead: Space Con 2026
Next year’s dates are locked in: June 12–14, 2026, again at the Freeman Coliseum. Tickets go on sale November 6, 2025, and if this year’s buzz is any indication, VIP passes will vanish faster than a TARDIS in flight.
---
Whether you came for the cosplay, the collectibles, or the chance to hear Giancarlo Esposito drop a perfectly timed “This is the way,” Space Con 2025 delivered. And for us at Geeky Global Treks, it was another reminder that fandom isn’t just about stories—it’s about the people who live them together.
🛸 Until next year, keep your phasers charged and your badges shiny.
